Reconstitution Calculator

Work backward from the syringe draw you want to the exact BAC water to add — so your prescribed dose lands on a clean tick.

1 unit = 0.01 mL on a standard U-100 insulin syringe.

How it works

Most reconstitution calculators start from the water: you tell them how much bacteriostatic water you added, and they return the number of units to draw. This one runs the other direction. You choose the draw you want on the syringe first, and it solves for the water that makes that draw equal your prescribed dose.

BAC water (mL) = vial mg × draw units × 0.01 ÷ dose mg

Worked example. For a 10 mg vial and a 500 mcg (0.5 mg) dose you want to land on 25 units (0.25 mL), the vial needs to sit at 2 mg/mL — so you add 5 mL of water (10 ÷ 2).

When to work backward

Solving for water is useful when vials arrive at different masses but you want the same, easy-to-read draw every time, or when you want a draw large enough to measure confidently on the barrel. Pick the draw, and the water follows.

Units & conversions

Doses go in as micrograms or milligrams, where 1 mg = 1,000 mcg. On a U-100 insulin syringe, 1 mL = 100 units, so every unit is 0.01 mL. The two converters above handle both swaps for you.

Storing what you mix

Once reconstituted, a peptide is generally kept refrigerated and used within the stability window your provider or the product label specifies. Heat, light, and repeated warming and cooling shorten that window, so follow the storage instructions that came with your medication.

Scope & safety

This page is educational and performs arithmetic only. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or recommend a dose. Use the dose your EVLOmd provider prescribed for you, and confirm the result with your care team before you inject. Some peptides are compounded preparations that are not FDA-approved.
